Gone are the days when we fecklessly threw away plastic bottles and cartons with our rubbish without considering the impact. Indeed, most of us are far more conscious of the plastic pollution not only brought to our attention through television and media but which we can visibly see for ourselves when walking our beaches and countryside. Plastic Free July® is a global movement by the Plastic Free Foundation to bring awareness and solutions to what can only be described as the plastic pollution scourge. It’s a time in the year when the world can unite and be part of the solution to make our countryside and streets places we can be proud of. To have cleaner seas and oceans for a safer environment for our marine life—and Balmy Fox has no hesitation in being part of this fundamentally important diary event!
Who are the Plastic Free Foundation?
The Foundation was created in 2017, six years after the Plastic Free July® campaign was already a triumphant success—a not-for-profit charity that helps support participants, raises awareness and continues to grow this vitally important campaign.
What is the Plastic Free July Message?
It’s simple—live and work alongside the Foundation’s ethos of seeing a world free of plastic waste. And you can easily get involved, whether it’s refusing single-use plastics, making sure your plastic footprint is always reused or recycled or going that one step further by living a completely plastic-free life. Or decide to get out there on your own or part of a community-wide project to clear community areas and beaches from plastic rubbish. Plastic Free July® has ideas and resources to inspire your home and work life, school environment, and community so that everyone can get involved!
Planet before Profit: Choose Ethical Brands
Join the revolution and choose to buy ethically sourced products made with natural ingredients and components, products that come in plastic-free, eco packaging that can be recycled and reused. By making a decisive choice to boycott unethical companies that continue to put profit before the planet forces them to invest in sourcing natural ingredients and recyclable and recycled materials. If we can force change by simply making better choices when we buy, it’s better for our health and great for the planet!
Plastic-Free Balmy Fox: Vegan Plastic Free Skincare
Our ethos and devotion lie in delivering ethically sourced, natural and organic skincare with zero plastics and chemicals—in a nutshell, the best plastic-free skincare in plastic-free packaging! Our beautiful range of creams and balms are filled only with gorgeous natural and organic essential oils and other ingredients that are good for you and don’t harm the planet. We don’t use any chemical nasties in our formulations, even in our high factor SPF sunscreen, which contains naturally occurring zinc oxide to provide the sun protection—unlike traditional sun creams that continue to use chemicals full of plastic microbeads that leach into our waterways and oceans. And all delivered in eco skincare packaging!
Plastic-Free Packaging
We believe there’s simply no point in delivering natural, plastic-free products if we can’t match them with ethical skincare packaging. That’s why 80% of the card used in our packaging is recycled, with all Balmy Fox products coming in packaging that is 100% recyclable. Our balms and creams come in super convenient handy tins that can be reused time and time again, making great containers to organise drawers or storing small items such as elastic bands, twist ties, and paper clips that you’re forever losing. And when they do reach the end of their life, just recycle them to be turned into something else. By choosing ethical brands, like Balmy Fox, for the best plastic-free skincare, you’re putting the planet first!
So, this July, don’t stand still and ignore what a devastating climate issue plastic waste is. Plastic Free July® is a time to get involved and spread the word, and Balmy Fox is super eager to collaborate, so join us this July and be part of the solution. Whether it’s on your own, as a family or as part of a community, if we all make small changes today, just maybe, there will be a day without plastic waste!
