So, what can skin care manufacturers do to make it easier for planet-friendly consumers to purchase environmentally friendly products and make sure that it’s super easy to recycle product packaging?
Let’s be honest; plastic is the pariah in today’s world. It’s pretty impossible to know whether you can or cannot recycle it—let’s face it, you probably need a science degree in plastics. It seems the way to go is to simply steer clear altogether, especially when there are so many other less environmentally damaging materials we can be using. Come on—do manufacturers need to be using plastic containers in the current climate (pardon the pun)?
For the most part, consumers want to do their bit, and if we, as skincare manufacturers, make it super easy for them, it’s a win-win. When skincare brands take every step to use materials that have been recycled or can be recycled and are sourced locally, that’s one thing less the consumer and the environment have to worry about!
