Perhaps the most beautiful thing about exercise in the Great Outdoors is that it’s inclusive and has no borders. Anyone can get outside and do whatever it is they love doing – hiking, trail running, wild swimming, climbing. The possibilities are endless.
Some of us do though, have extra challenges to exercising. Many of us can pull on our running shoes, choose the right Spotify play list and simply go through the front door. But many more need to take extra steps, make extra preparations or need extra help in order to do the sports they love.
Excitingly, para-athletics groups and activities are now much easier to find and more popular to spectate. This is thanks in great part to the London 2012 Paralympics which saw the UK realising a new love and passion for para sports. Charities and new events such as the Invictus Games help to further this need and love for para-athletics.
